Quickly Qualifies for Public Campaign Funds with 167 D.C. Donors
(Washington, D.C.) — Today, Gloria Nauden’s campaign for D.C.Council Ward 6 announced that it has qualified for the D.C. Fair Elections Program by surpassing the required 150 individual contributions from District residents.
Nauden, a Democrat, launched her campaign less than 30 days ago. In that short time, the committee received 167 contributions from District residents totalling $8,105. The committee estimates it will have more than $70,000 on-hand after receiving Fair Elections matching and base funds. A total of $263,680 in matching funds is available to Ward 6 candidates, an amount Nauden intends to achieve.
“I am grateful to have the support of my neighbors in Ward 6 and residents from across the city. Our campaign is fueled by grassroots support that is amplified through the Fair Elections Programs,” said Nauden. “We are raising the voices of Ward 6 voters who have grown weary of ample rhetoric, but few results.”
“Our campaign is new, but already on solid footing. Why? Because the conversations we’re having with residents are meaningful to their everyday lives. I am informed through listening,” said Nauden. “Ward 6 residents want to be heard, not lectured.”
Nauden is participating in the D.C. Fair Elections program, which limits contributions to individuals and caps dollar amounts at $50. Eligible funds from District residents are matched 5-to-1 with public funds.
The D.C. Democratic Primary is June 16, 2026.
